Lake information

Lake Management

Westlake at Millmount is conducting periodic lake water testing to help provide residents with information about lake conditions. This page is intended to share reported test results for community awareness and transparency.

Lake health is important to the overall quality of life in our neighborhood. The lake contributes to the appearance of the community, supports local wildlife, and is a valued part of the Westlake at Millmount environment. Periodic testing helps residents stay informed about current conditions over time.

Testing program

Lake water samples are collected by neighborhood volunteers at multiple locations around the lake. The samples are tested using the 5Strands Blue Green Algae Test Kit, which detects toxins produced by blue-green algae.

Testing is expected to occur monthly during the summer season or as otherwise needed. Test timing and frequency may vary based on volunteer availability, weather, and other conditions.
